Install Windows 8 from recovery disk on VirtualBox [on hold]

About 6 months ago, I bought a desktop HP PC with Windows 8 from Costco. I made a recovery disk (actually, took 4 DVDs) of the operating system and copied down the product key. I then did a fresh Cento6 install on the machine.

I know wish to operate Windows (8 I guess, but I would rather have 7) on a VirtualBox on the Centos box.

Is this possible? Any recommendations where to start? Can I do so without re-installing all the HP baggage?
